There’s always someone who comes along whether in music, sports or entertainment that impacts their art form or discipline like no one has ever before. It feels like these people are chosen and have a higher calling to what they do.
Stuart Scott was that person when it came to sports anchors. He was a vibrant and brilliant star who for so many years was the reason I looked forward to the highlights on ESPN. We were always in awe of Stuart and excited to see what he might say next. It was consistently something cool and dynamic, that me and my friends would talk about as if it were a dope bar in our favorite MC's song. It was like he was sending signals to let us know we were seen and heard and being represented.
For years I’ve been saying that someone needs to do a movie on Stuart Scott…so thank you ESPN, thank you Andre Gaines and thank you everyone who helped create this amazing 30 for 30 documentary - “Boo-Yah | A Portrait of Stuart Scott."
This is a special story about a special man and I am extremely grateful and exited to have an original song with 9th Wonder featured in the film. This song is truly Inspired by our love and admiration for Stuart Scott.

Basketball and music are two of my greatest loves. James, Karriem, and I wanted to create a piece of music that expresses the togetherness, soul, fun, creativity, and spirit of the NBA and what the game represents. As Black artists coming from where we come from, creating the theme song for the NBA on Prime is one of the greatest moments of my career.
